So I always thought that homemade bread was SO hard to make! NOT TRUE! Matt and I (mostly Matt) made some white bread on Saturday and turned out like a piece of heaven. There is absolutely nothing else in this world like the taste and smell of warm bread fresh out of the oven. My mother-in-law Debbie has some amazing recipes that she is so nice to share with me, and hopefully it's okay that I share with you as well (I asked Matt and he said yes). The hardest part about making bread is waiting for it to rise...it takes patience. Anyway, recipe is below the picture! If you decide to make it, let me know how it turns out!
Ingredients:3 C. warn water
1/2 C. milk
1 C. melted margerine
1 Tbsp. yeast
1/2 C. sugar
2 tsp. salt (scant)
9 C. flour
Directions:Combine all ingredients in Bosch or KitchenAid (gradually adding flour until mixture pulls away from sides...you might need extra flour). Mix for about 10 minutes. Let rise in greased bowl until doubled once. Punch down, do not knead. (It helps to put vegetable oil on hands when handling dough so it doesn't stick to your hands). Separate dough into bread pans. Let rise again. Bake @ 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Once out of the oven, brush outside of bread with butter. Enjoy!

I can smell it!
This picture makes a really cool backdrop!
Hi Heather, I'm a friend of Natalie's and your blog is so fun! I'm a "foodie" I guess, and I love that this recipe is so simple. I do have a couple of questions though:
1) Is the dough supposed to be sticky or smooth?
2) Do you punch it down, knead it and then put it in the pans? Or do you just try to separate it without it falling too much?
Thanks!
Kristen
