For the next two days my posts will solely be about the
Land That I Love. I love traveling, but whenever I am gone for long periods of time (or even short periods) there is always that yearning desire to get back to the sweet land of Liberty where the streets are clean, I know I have freedom, and just have that peace of mind. America, I love you.
P.S. I wish we sang patriotic hymns all throughout the year, rather than just for a Sunday or, if I'm lucky, two weeks in a row!

"Stand beside her and guide her through the night with a light from above" -- one of my favorite patriotic songs. Makes me cry, every time. Wish we were together this weekend! SO much! Love you. Great post -- can't wait to see your upcoming patriotic posts!
By the way, this picture made me laugh!
Give me your tired, your poor, your huddles masses yearning to breath free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me – I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
I learned this song in 8th-grade choir. The words are the taken from the poem The New Collossus by Emma Lazarus.
People are always surprised when I can quote, from memory, what is engraved on the Statue of Liberty...
I LOVE OUR COUNTRY!!
sister, you read my mind.
Oops! Make that breathe instead of breath... :-S
Lyn - I'm not surprised, but AM impressed! I wish I'd learned that in 8th grade too!
You must belong to the Mildenstein clan!!! Red, white, and blue runs in our veins! I, like your Mom, wish we could be together for the holiday. Know you will be missed here in Texas. Love you guys!
Happy 4th of July! I LOVE the patriotic theme! I can't wait for our little guy to see his first fireworks! I guess the same for Cole too, huh? :)
I'm such a patriotic person. I love this holiday! You definetly married into the right family. I loved watching Keith and Debbie sing the patriotic songs at church...they'd be crying, my parents would be crying so I'd be crying....awesome!
