About a year ago I had the most amazing sweet treat I've ever tasted in my life. I was at a gathering where there was a smorgasbord of delights to eat. There was a bowl of caramel popcorn sitting there, quickly disappearing as the minutes passed. I wanted to see what all of the hype was about, so I grabbed a handful of gooey delight and put it in my mouth. I gave out an involuntary moan from the delicious taste that I was experiencing. I immediately did some research and found out who was the mastermind behind this recipe.
Ms. Kayti Oldham was the one responsible for the treat. I asked her for it and my wish was granted.
I challenge all of you to try out this recipe to kick off the month of October! Thanks Kayti! I hope you don't mind me sharing!

Ingredients:
- 1 cube margarine
- 1 cup Karo
- 2 1/3 cups brown sugar
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
Directions:
- Put margarine, brown sugar and Karo in a saucepan and boil to soft ball stage.
- Turn off the heat but leave pan on the element while slowly adding in milk, stirring constantly.
- Mix well and add over air popped popcorn . *I never have any clue how much popcorn to pop it just really depends on how well you want the popcorn covered

So....I'm pretty sure that's on my diet. Thanks! A lot. I'm so weak.

I am so tempted to make this RIGHT NOW.
(2:27 A.M.)
I've been making caramel corn during the holiday season for the past few years now, and people pretty much demand that I bring some to every gathering now. I literally give buckets of this stuff out as Christmas gifts :)

Heather, want to hear something funny? I clicked on Kayti's link & saw a photo of my parent's cabin on her blog... turns out that Kayti (I've never met her) is the sister of my soon-to-be brother in law. Her family just spent some time at the cabin with my family. How funny!
Let's all start singing "It's a small world after all" over & over again.
Okay, so I think maybe Kayti is the wife of the brother of my soon-to-be brother in law. Does that make any sense?! Funny. :)
Kathryn,
What a small world! Kayti and Aaron (her husband) are in our ward. They're the nicest, most fun people ever! It's a good family to marry in to!
K so I did it. It tasted wonderful. I popped five bags of popcorn, but I probably should have done six. It made a lot. I gave it to my visit teachees though. Thanks for the recipe!
I just made this!! Soooo good! I didn't eat that much (I'm taking it to work tomorrow) but a little was enough--it is so sweet! And sooooooo good! Thanks for the recipe Heath!
