Do you read
A Cup of Jo? If not, you should. Yesterday Joanna posted a tutorial on the art of
The Messy Bun. For some reason I've been growing my hair out...not intentionally, I just haven't thought about taking the time to cut it. Gross, I know. Anyway, check out this awesome tutorial and try it. I just did so I could practice around the house. I finished it off with one of
Erica's Hair Lovelies and the look was complete. So when you see me at Church with my hair in a messy bun (if I have the guts to attempt to pull it off), don't make fun of me for posting this, k?

have you seen this...

seems like something you'd like.
I'm thinking this hair tutorial is for gals who don't have tons of THICK long hair. When she says to use 4-8 bobby pins I'd have to use 20-30...not even joking!
for those who have thicker hair follow the steps up until the bobby pins...this is where I take a black no metal hair band and wrap it around the whole messy bun three times. Sometimes I require 2 hair bands to do the job...if not my bun that was once on the top of my head is now tickling the top of my back due to the weight.
p.s. thanks for the shout out on the hair pins. They really are awesome to use, especially with a hairstyle like this one.
I'm sure the bun will look great on you!!
I love this, thank you!
That's PERFECT for you and your hair, Heather! And I've loved the "messy bun" for forever...in fact, I used to do my hair just like this many years ago!
Heather. I just checked out "Jen's" link at http://www.hourprovo.blogspot.com and it's SO AWESOME! If you scroll down you'll see the man we saw on our walk that we talked to, sitting on his front porch. It was Richard Dutcher! Ha!
P.s. Forgot to mention how this messy bun look would totally fit you. I'm sure you're one dead sexy lady with your messy bun :)
Oooh yes I totally saw this -- AND I included it in my 'fawned friday' post today ^_^
Love it!
My hair is ALMOST long enough to work this -- soon enough. It's definitely giving me some motivation to grow it out more!
i LOVE that you posted this heather! this is basically what my hair looks like everyday without even trying.
sad, i know. maybe now i can actually do it and make it look cute with a little lovelies... i need some of those!
I HAVE BECOME IRRESISTIBLE. AND IT IS MERELY BECAUSE OF THIS POST. (and the fact that I change it from a bun to an up-do/twist/thing).
THANK. YOU.
Not to mention that now instead of having to wash my hair everyday, I have made it to 3 days (saints be praised!) and I still have people stop me and say "your hair looks amazing."
FABULOUS! FABULOUS! FAAAABYOOOLUHS!
