One Year Wiser

Where does the time go? I feel like I just wrote this letter yesterday! I was asked twice yesterday by strangers how old my sweet baby is. To one awkward man in the post office guessing he was 4...5 months I responded, "He's actually almost one". And to the juvenile, yet tender thug girls in the grocery store who asked, I finally had the courage to say, "He'll be one tomorrow".

My first baby is already ONE! One entire year has passed and it's really hard to believe. As I reflect on my first year of motherhood the first thing that comes to my mind is peaceful. The second thing that comes to my mind is insane. Two words that are opposite, yet describe my experiences thus far. I love it. I love every millisecond of being Cole's mom. When I start thinking selfishly of how hard it is, or how I don't have time to shower for days on end, or how sometimes I don't have time to eat, or I never get to socialize, I look at what a wonderful blessing it is to be able to just stay home and care for my child and all of those thoughts vanish.

I have the best job in the world: "Just" being a mom.
