Wedding Gifts

When you're students on tight budget and everyone around you is getting married, it's hard to find great wedding gifts. We received this gift from one of Matt's family friends for our wedding, and I have forever (and will forever) copy this idea. It's cute, useful, and inexpensive.

I usually go to Target and get all of the "stuff", but you can go wherever. Just get a cute strainer, ladle, and potholders or dishtowels that all look good together, or that are on the bride's registry. Then head over to the pasta aisle and grab a bag of pretty-looking pasta (the one pictured isn't as cool as the other ones they have in the store). Put all of the goods into the strainer and tie a big fat bow around it. Voila! You have a great wedding gift for about $20-$25!

*Don't think I'm a cheapskate for giving such whimpy gifts...*

Hey! I still use the hot pads and strainer you gave us for our wedding. It's a really useful gift idea!

so cute! i might have to steal this idea. the gift that stood out for our wedding was really cute, colorful ice cream sundae dishes, an ice cream scoop, sprinkles and magic shell sauce.

I know this is a little bit off topic, but for my sister's bridal shower, I gave her 4 different gifts: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...it turned out SO cute! :)
