What have we been up to lately? A lot. Last week we took a last minute trip to Arizona to see my sweet nephew Cardon get baptized. It was a beautiful occasion, and we all had a great time. Well, when I say “we all” mainly I mean Cole. I’ve come to the conclusion that Hawk does NOT travel well. It’s not even the drive that was the terrible part, it was just being in new surroundings. No sleep, and just unhappy all around. Grumpy grump for days on end. Then, the second we stepped back into our house he relaxed and back to normal. It’s tough, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has a child like this. It’s hard!

Anyway, we’re back at home now and going on our daily business! Cole is LOVING preschool and this week his class is celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday! He’s been rhyming left and right! We’ve also been doing some fun projects with and without the kids! As pictured, you can see my failed attempt at children’s cough suckers. They were nasty and ugly, and I’m not sure if I’m up to attempt #2. It was a nice thought though.

On a happier note, my old camera died for good. It was a sad hour, with tears and all. That Canon 30d had gone through a lot with me. After a sobbing phone call to sweet Matt, he came home that night with a shiny, new, fancy one for me! Now I just can’t get enough of it!

That’s about it for us, Until the next “lately” update! xoxo

(also, that awesome pose that Cole is doing was his idea. I love him)

  1. How sad to lose your camera, but so fun to have a new camera! What kind did you get?

  2. You have such a lovely family. I have a small son the same age as Hawk – they look very similar! He also is very much a home-bird, we don’t go far!

  3. oh my! this is making me a bit nervous about traveling for the first time with my 5 month old. we leave in a week for a trip down south, here’s to hoping she does well on the plane! congrats on the new camera, what are your go-to lenses you use?
